"The complete windows based software solution for running any consulting based Healthcare organisation.”

Crosscare provides the brains behind the effective running of many different types of healthcare organisations. From Primary Care clinics and surgeries, through hospital departments, hospices and nursing homes, to private hospitals and clinics, and even prisons and immigration centres. As a multi-lingual product, Crosscare can be utilised anywhere in the world.

For each different application, the same core product is delivered with a different set of user-built and user-definable entry windows and data views. You can literally take Crosscare to pieces and easily rebuild it to suit any model of healthcare. The clinician has a choice of forward thinking and progressive clinical coding systems, including Read Codes, CTV3 and Snomed. Both highly flexible and fully configurable, Crosscare provides each individual user with their own bespoke system, tailored to their own individual needs, but without the need for programming or development. Healthy Software's implementation team make sure that the standard system setup is adapted for everyone, so the customer doesn't even have to worry about setting it up in the first place.

Crosscare is supplied as one standard, complete product. It does not have "additional cost" options; everything is included in the core product. In the UK, the company is formally contracted to the National Programme for IT as a GP Systems of Choice provider, and is delivering national data spine connectivity and all the relevant national initiatives. In Wales, it is one of only four approved suppliers for GP systems..

The intelligent solution for your business

A standard toolbar across every window provides an ease of use and consistency that makes getting started with Crosscare quick and easy. Whilst the software is simple and easy enough to engage the novice, it is also sophisticated enough to satisfy the needs of the more experienced user.

At the nerve centre of Crosscare is the Clinicians' desktop, which manages the consultation process between the clinician and their patient. It doesn't really matter if the consultation is in a GP surgery, an out-patient clinic, a private hospital or a hospice. The desktop enables each user to configure their own system to allow them to see the information they need, in the order they need it. New information can be entered into the patient's notes using personally customised data entry windows that are built to fit the user's own working habits.

Alerts, notification of diseases or events, together with any other relevant data views and entry windows are triggered to appear automatically as the patient's notes are accessed. The desktop is dynamically changed to reflect the unique problems and conditions of each individual patient.

Crosscare utilises a workflow approach which streamlines the information flow from start to finish. For example, a single consultation for a patient starts with a phone call to make an entry in the Appointments Book. If required, the system can automatically remind the patient of the appointment with an automated text message directly to their mobile phone. Once the patient arrives for the appointment, the system logs their arrival and this feeds through into the Management Reporting system to provide waiting time statistics. The patient arrival also goes straight through to the clinician's desktop, so the patient can be called either via reception or through an automatic call display system. Once the consultation has been completed, the Appointments Book is updated to reflect the fact that the patient has now left and the Management Reporting system has everything it needs to calculate waiting and consultation time statistics.

Flexible reporting

Clinical data needs to be useful to both the clinician when providing treatment and the management when analysing the business. Too often systems provide reporting suites that are fixed in format and cannot be modified. They provide three quarters of the requirements easily, but getting the other quarter feels like getting blood out of a stone. In reality, reporting needs change day to day, with the same data often needing to be analysed in different ways.

The Crosscare Reporter provides a completely flexible solution. Even pre-set reports can be re-configured to output different data items if required. The database can be filtered by any piece of data stored in it, and then anything can be output. Once the report is produced, additional columns can be added at will. A special "Pivot" facility allows for the data to be turned around and looked at from a number of different angles, possibly by sex, or age band, or postcode area. Each pivot banding can then be further analysed with a drill-down facility and if there is complete confusion as to why a patient appears on a report, a double-click will bring up the patients' complete medical record. At any stage the output can be directed to paper, csv file for loading into Excel or pdf file for viewing in Acrobat. An interface to Crystal Reports is also available.

A wide ranging solution

Crosscare provides a complete solution and works equally well within the public or private sector. It boasts the highest levels of NHS accreditation alongside a breadth of functionality that equally meets the requirements of the private sector. Wide ranging in its functionality, it is also wide ranging in its geographical scope, as full records for all patients can be downloaded on to a Laptop or PDA and taken for visits by Doctors, District or Community Nurses.
